Hottest ice cream to spice up the city this winter

11 July 2023

Melbourne will heat up this winter, with an unmissable foodie pop-up set to surprise and delight city workers, residents and visitors.

The City of Melbourne will partner with local celebrity chef and MasterChef finalist Sarah Todd to deliver ‘Melbourne’s Hottest Ice Cream’ – with unique, limited-edition treats handed out free at the State Library forecourt on Friday 14 July and Saturday 15 July.

The one-of-a-kind winter warmer will draw on Todd’s passion for Indian cuisine and get tastebuds tingling – with an Aloo Gobi savoury soft serve topped with local ingredients, including Davidson plum and saltbush.

The two-day pop-up will celebrate Melbourne’s world-renowned food scene and cement the city’s reputation as a unique winter destination.

The activation is part of the City of Melbourne’s ‘Only in the City’ campaign, a major promotion designed to attract more people into the city during the day to work, shop, dine and spend locally – bridging the gap between Melbourne’s 9-to-5 and night-time economies.

Melbourne’s Hottest Ice Cream pop-up will be serving treats from 12 to 5pm. Patrons are encouraged to sign up to What’s On to explore other exciting activations and events in the city this winter.
